The Snorkelling Advisor teaches current use of the equipment and snorkelling techniques and gives a well researched and informative talk on the biology and history of the reef.
Snorkelling is the easiest way to enjoy the colours and variety of fragile corals and fish life found in the shallow lagoons.
Our dedicated Snorkel Crew provide personal in-water assistance and flotation devices for beginners. While the more experienced snorkellers can enjoy unrestricted exploration of spectacular drop-offs and coral pinnacles.

Swimming with Minke Whales - An Incredible Experience
Anyone fortunate enough to be visiting Port Douglas between May and August has a unique opportunity to swim with dwarf mink whales during day trips on the modern 24 meter catamaran Poseidon.
Owned by Ports longest established family reef tour operator, Poseidon holds one of only three permits issued to day boats by the marine park managers, GBRMPA, allowing passengers to deliberately swim with these curious and friendly whales that grow to
8 meters in length. A world first, this interaction relies upon Poseidon following very strict guidelines to avoid disturbing these beautiful animals.
Swimmers in groups of ten are sent out along a floating line once whales have been seen near the boat. And no weight belts, scuba gear or flash photography is permitted. By following this passive approach, invariably the wto the swimmers to satisfy their own curiosity, often staying close by for over an hour until the boat finally has to move on to the next site.
On one recent encounter on Poseidon at the Agincourt Reefs, a single female whale was passing within 2 meters of the swimmers displaying her belly and then putting her whole head out of the water to look at the passengers on the boat, a process known as “Spy Hopping” later when Poseidon moved off, she then followed the boat to the next stop.
These encounters, whilst never guaranteed, are frequent during our winter months, and many whales are also sighted while the vessel is travelling. From early July, until late September, the much larger Humpback Whales are often seen giving breathtaking displays of breaching, tail waving and pectoral fin slaps.
Although the winter months can be windy this is more than compensated by the clear water and chance of actually swimming with these amazing Dwarf Minke Whales, helping Poseidon contribute to the collection of data that is so important to ensure their long term protection.
SCUBA DIVING

The Agincourt Reefs are long narrow reefs located along the very Outer Edge of the Great Barrier Reef, flushed out at every tide by clear oceanic water welling up from the Coral Sea Trench nearby. Coral thrives in this clear water, creating spectacular gardens and a huge variety of marine life. These pristine reefs are opposite the Daintree Rainforest, well North of any agricultural run-off from cultivated areas and provide the best possible diving opportunities. All our sites have been selected for both the shallower coral gardens and the adjacent deeper walls and drop-offs preferred by scuba divers.
Important Notes
Restrictions When Flying: You should not go altitude flying within 12 hours of completing a single dive or 18 hours if you have done multiple dives.
Medical Conditions: Certain medical condidtions and medications may preclude some people from diving. People with any history of Asthma are not able to scuba dive. Please detail any questions you have in the 'Additional Information field' when you Make Your Enquiry.
Children must be 12 years of age or older to participate in scuba diving.

* To make the most of the dive, we provide Dive Computers and Large Tanks (75 or 88c + tanks) which allows more time underwater
* Certified Divers are required to produce their Certification Cards plus complete paperwork once on board. Our Dive Master will brief divers on the sites, their equipment and safety procedures.

Cancellations:
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
A strict 3 day cancellation policy applies. No refund applicable if cancelled or travel date adjusted within 3 days of travel.

We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking, you must complete our no-obligations reservations enquiry form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your enquiry, we will contact you via phone or email, to advise of availability and confirm the final price is correct - and discuss payment options. A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation notice and at this stage the deposit is processed on your credit card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
Please note we accept Visa and Mastercard and the credit card fees are:
1) 1.75% for the deposit amount.
2) 1.75% for the balance of payment.
If you are booking via phone, please first make sure you have read the terms and conditions of your selected sailing adventure. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental, trip or charter services.
Amendments
Please check the terms of each vessel to see whether amendment fees apply. Please also note that for some vessels an amendment is treated as a new booking and the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). In the case of boat rental/yacht charter, if the hire or number of days is increased, an additional deposit may be required, while reduction in rental periods or price may reduce the total, but the deposit amount will remain unchanged.
Vessel Capacity and fitness to charter (for Bareboats only)
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vessel you charter is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of passengers allowed is indicated next to each vessel on this website. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A boat or trip supplier can refuse to hire a vessel to any person who is in their opinion unfit to skipper or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
